Show & tell – Japanese knot bag

Janet’s been at it again and has whipped up this little number – a Japanese knot bag.  This is a reversible bag that has a long and short handle and when the long handle is pulled through the short – voilá! – a great little bag to keep keys, purse and phone in that looks pretty snazzy.

Janet used this Deco Dreams fabric from Fabric Freedom which has a subtle gold thread running through it and coordinates fabulously with Timeless Treasures  Willow in gold that you can just see peeking out at the strap below.

Janet just drew the shape she wanted for her bag and took it from there but the internet  has loads of easy to follow patterns including this one from All People Quilts which is called a grab bag and includes pockets.  The clever design means there’s no need for zips or fasteners of any sort as the knot closes the bag.  It can be worn around the wrist and would make a great present.

And in other news – Louise has had a significant birthday recently and, thanks to the generosity of her loved ones, has purchased a new toy.  Stay tuned to find out more!
